IT SEEMS to me that social psychologists have spent a disproportionate amount of time discussing exact definitions and points of view, whereas the important thing is to go ahead and make empirical investigations.
I realize, of course, that a satisfactory definition is desirable; but to engage in any lengthy discussion of exact words or phrases will take time from our main business, namely, the subject matter and methods of social psychology.
