Early Life and Basketball Beginnings

Serge Ibaka was born in Brazzaville, Republic of Congo, to a family of 18 siblings.

His parents were both basketball players, with his father playing for Congo and the Republic of Congo national team. Ibaka began playing basketball at an early age, joining his first club, Avenir-du-Rail.

Professional Career in Spain

At age 16, Ibaka moved to Spain and played for Interclub of Brazzaville.
