José Gregorio Hernández CisnerosOFS (Spanish:[xoˈseɣɾeˈɣoɾjoeɾˈnandes]; 26 October 1864 – 29 June 1919) was a Venezuelanphysician.
Born in Isnotú, Trujillo State, he became a highly renowned doctor, more so after his death.[1] He was beatified by the Catholic Church in 2021.

Early life and education
José Gregorio Hernández Cisneros was born on 26 October 1864 in Isnotú, a small village in the state of Trujillo in Venezuela.
He spent the entirety of his childhood in his hometown, where his mother worked as a housekeeper and his father sold pharmaceuticals and livestock.
Hernández was baptised on 30 January 1865 in what is now the parish Church of Niño Jesús de Escuque.[2] He received the sacrament of Confirmation on 6 December 1867 from
